Gradient Welcomes SquadAssist as Newest Customer

SquadAssist will use Gradient’s Physical Metrics and Off-Ball Runs data to strengthen the intelligence behind its transfer analysis platform.

Gradient is pleased to announce SquadAssist as its newest customer.

SquadAssist is an AI-powered football transfer analysis platform built to help clubs and agents make better decisions in the transfer market by predicting a player’s sportive impact and future transfer value. As part of this relationship, SquadAssist will use Physical Metrics and Off-Ball Runs data with access delivered through the Gradient API.

For a business built around player valuation, recruitment intelligence, and transfer decision support, the quality of the underlying football data matters. SquadAssist’s platform is designed to help users optimize recruitment strategy and make more data-driven transfer decisions, which makes contextual performance inputs especially important.

SquadAssist will leverage this data to improve their models as well as to add context to the players that users are investigating. For SquadAssist users, this has 3 crucial benefits:

  1. Improved predictions: SquadAssist gets access to the full coverage of Gradient’s physical data and off-ball runs to improve the models.
  2. Access to 5 key metrics: total distance, high-speed run distance, max speed, runs-in-behind and runs-beyond-the-ball
  3. Custom metrics: users will be able to create custom metrics that leverage Gradient’s leading data to create a score of 0 to 100 on how good their physical performance is according to their definition.

James Clarke-Reed, EVP of Club and Partner Solutions at Gradient, said:

“We’re excited to welcome SquadAssist as a customer. Their platform is focused on a highly important use case in football, and we’re pleased to support that work with Physical Metrics that bring greater context to player evaluation and player value modeling.”

Wout Pauwels, CEO and co-Founder of SquadAssist, said:

“This partnership is a crucial next step for SquadAssist to become the best way to make better transfer decisions. Gradient’s data adds significant predictive power and context to what we’re doing. We’ve already received very positive feedback from early testers of this partnership and our models are now the most powerful available on the market. We are beyond excited about where this partnership will lead us in the next 5 years.”

Gradient’s Physical Metrics provide additional layers that can support richer evaluation. For SquadAssist, that means stronger inputs across the platform’s player value prediction and transfer intelligence workflows. By combining Gradient’s offerings with flexible delivery through API access and Epitome, SquadAssist will be able to integrate Gradient data into its own systems while also exploring performance insights directly through Gradient’s platform environment.

At Gradient, we believe better football decisions require better football understanding. We are proud to support SquadAssist as it continues building tools that help clubs and agents make smarter, more data-driven decisions in the transfer market.
